Sheet masking is a fun way to care for and nourish your skin. With the vast array of sheet masks available, I chose a whole bunch from Glow Theory. Here are my thoughts…
Coconut Milk Sheet Mask (Moisturising)
ILLI Lotus Moisture Mask
This mask doesn’t smell particularly pretty or appealing, but I’m okay with that. I think because it’s exotic (there’s no english on the back of the mask’s packaging), I expect these sheet masks to enchant me. Anyway this Lotus mask says it will moisturise your face – and it did. Some sheet masks create pimples if I leave them on, but not this one. It moisturised my skin and left it glowing. It wasn’t as wet as the Coconut Milk Sheet Mask (above), but I used the serum for the next night, and it did a good job of moisturising my skin. There’s nothing else I can say about this mask, other than the fact that it did what it said it would. It didn’t blow my mind, and I won’t repurchase. Available for R40 from Glow Theory here.
Tony Moly Real Nature Mask Sheet – Royal Jelly
Tony Moly Pureness 100 Hyaluronic Acid – Hydrating
Tony Moly Pureness 100 Collagen Mask Sheet – Elasticity
Tony Moly Pureness 100 Snail Mask Sheet – Skin Irritation Care
White Milk Sheet Mask (Hydrating)
This is my favourite sheet mask of the lot. It smells lovely, and feels soothing and comforting. I left it on for 30 minutes and I was left with smooth, shiny and oh so comfortable, hydrated skin. I was able to use the remaining serum for another 2 nights. A definite winner for the affordability – R35 from Glow Theory here.
Royal Jelly
Of all the sheet masks tested, this is my second favourite one. It claims to nourish skin and reduce wrinkles. I was expecting it to smell heavenly, but it turns out that it’s fragrance free. I left it on for 30 minutes and I was left with perfectly hydrated and soft skin. There was enough serum in the packet to apply to my décolleté and for use another separate time. As for reducing wrinkles, I can’t say, but it was fun to use and hydrating on my skin.

Sheet masks are a fun way to amp up your skincare and address various concerns and I really enjoyed trying out these interesting K-beauty ones. Have you tried and loved any?
