If you have space, why not invest in a spare clothes rack to use as ‘mood rail‘? A mood rail is kind of like a mood board – it’s a place for creativity and inspiration, and it’s beautiful to look at. The purpose is to give you the space to separate a collection of seasonal items in different colours, prints and materials depending on your preference (or mood – hence the name).

For the upcoming winter I’m really feeling blush, baby pink and maroon, and am adding a few pieces in these colours to my winter wardrobe. My cupboard is sometimes very cluttered and because “out of sight, out of mind” is real for me, I like to keep my new pieces separate from the rest of my stuff, so that I can (mostly importantly) remember to wear them and also get inspired! I’ll add a few amazing basics that I already have and love to the mood rail, like a leather biker jacket, some amazing ripped jeans and black skinny pants and then I’ll work from there, incorporating other pieces from my staple wardrobe.

In essence, a mood rail is a capsule collection of your own clothes that helps you to put outfits together – especially when you’re running low on inspiration or need to get out of the house in a hurry. It’s also a great idea for slowly packing before you go on holiday. If you were really organised, you could even use the mood rail to plan a weeks worth of outfits on a Sunday evening. Maybe this would be taking things a bit too far?

Here’s some inspiration to get your creative flow going:

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll know what a great time I had at the Cadbury Dairy Milk What Flavour Do You Favour? Event last week.

The vending machine style ‘Joy Generator’ matches chocolate fans with their perfect Cadbury Dairy Milk flavour and after discovering your flavour match, you can use the Joy Generator to share your experience with your friends on social media.

The Joy Generator matched me with my perfect Cadbury Dairy Milk flavour – Whole Nut, which I absolutely love …. But while a little nervous to commit to this delicious variant, I used the digital speed dating option on www.cadbury.co.za/flavourfavour where I discovered that Caramello was my soulmate. This digital platform was designed for Cadbury Dairy Milk fans to discover other delicious flavour matches like Madly Minty, Notably Nutty, Biscuit Besotted and many more.

For me, the Caramello Crazy description resonated well.

You’re a real smooth talker, with definite sex appeal. But that doesn’t mean you’re superficial. Not at all. You have a heart of gold and a really sweet side, which is probably what makes you so desirable.”

Taking this into account, I went with my favourite sexy-sweet outfit consisting of a lace pencil skirt and a lace crop top. I paired the look with some nude stilettos and finished it off with some ravishing red lips and relaxed waves.

Hi Lovelies,

My two favourite months this year (besides my birthday month of March) are October and November. Why, you ask? Because H&M is opening in November and Forever 21 will be opening its second store in South Africa in October. The grand opening of Forever 21 is scheduled for 17 October 9am and the first 500 customers in line will receive an exclusive gift.

The Nelson Mandela Square location will offer customers a large selection of merchandise in more than 26,000 square feet of retail space. Complementing Forever 21® apparel and accessories, the store will also feature the retailer’s other brands including Forever 21 Contemporary, Forever 21 MEN™, Forever 21 Plus, Forever 21 Girls™, as well as Forever 21® denim and shoes.

I. Cannot. Wait.

The long awaited, highly anticipated opening of H&M will be here sooner than you think! The V&A Waterfront Cape Town store will open on 17 October 2015 at 10am and the Joburg store (located on the upper level of Sandton City, close to Woolies) will open on 7 November 2015 at 11am. The JHB store will be open until 12pm, so you can literally shop until you drop at midnight when exhaustion will eventually take hold of  you.

With something for everyone including collections for men, women, teens and babies, there will be lots of exclusive opening-day specials. If you’re one of the first in line, you might even be rewarded with a gift card or fashionable freebie.

If you don’t manage to get in on the action on the 7th, the store will be open on Sunday 8th November from 9am until 11pm, and will then revert to standard Sandton City trading hours.

See you there lovelies!

Hi Lovelies,

Now that autumn has finally settled in, it’s time to wear warmer gear. I actually hate winter and being cold, but autumn I can deal with. I am slightly obsessed with checked shirts and have been running around like mad trying to find one. I have searched high and low but found that nothing fit nicely. Because I have curves, I need my clothes to fit my body, because as soon as they hang, I look about 12 times bigger and unshapely. Imagine my sheer delight when I found 4 different variants of the same shirt at Factorie!? And yes, I got all 4. Obviously.

Shirt from Factorie  | Jacket from River Island | Pants from Woolies   Heels from Zara | Bag by Mango Touch from Mango (Milan) | Necklace from Witchery

P.S. Apologies for the bad photo quality – we were underground and the lighting wasn’t optimum.

P.P.S. The jacket, checked shirt and heels are all recent purchases. Zara still has the  heels at R559, River Island the leather jacket at R2199 and the checked shirt from Factorie at R299.
